How wonderful is science? It allows us to embrace the strange and unknown, to question and doubt things we don't understand. It's a celebration of all of those things! Who wouldn't love science for that? Being smart is cool and gives you a warm, squishy feeling inside to know that you are part of the joy of such an inclusive field! Sure, there are some who don't necessarily agree with that but ya know, writing Periodic Thoughts, reinvigorated our love for science and consequently, art since the two are linked. It was a humbling and lovely experience! We're so glad we get to share it with you all! :):) #periodicthoughts #nerdjournal

Elizabeth Blackwell was the first female doctor in the US! She helped to further women's advancement in the medical community by establishing the New York Infirmary and College for Women.
Leonardo Da Vinci believed that "saper vedere," which means, "knowing how to see" is essential to living a full life - that everything is interconnected. Science and art are not distinct from one another, that each study informs the other. He was quite progressive for his day!
